Timothy Paul Deslatte Passed away on 2002-05-22.

Two technicians working on a wireless communications tower about 50 miles east of Austin, TX died after a fall Wednesday. Timothy Paul Deslatte, 27, of New Braunfels and Joe Edward Palafox, 22, of Waco died at 4:15 p.m. while installing equipment for Verizon Wireless near the community of Lincoln and nearby Giddings.

Another man was injured. A worker lowering the men in harnesses from the tower lost control of the rope and the men fell 200 feet, the sheriff's office said.



Tim was born into an active duty military family on January 11, 1975. His family relocated to Wiesbaden, Germany, where he attended General H. H. Arnold High School and was a member of the Class of 1993. After high school, Tim joined the Air Force. He then followed his dream working in Special Forces.

Tim is survived by his wife Samantha J. Deslatte, his son Noah, daugher Mackenna P. Deslatte and sons Connor Timothy and Noah G. Deslatte, parents Larry and Amparo Folrez Deslatte, sister Priscilla Deslatte Hall. Tim is preceded in death by sister Susan Deslatte, paternal grandparents Phillip and Rita Schum Deslatte, and maternal grandparents Armando and Antonia Artime Florez.

Tim was a resident of New Braunfels, Texas and was a native of Ponchatoula, Louisiana.

Visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Ponchatoula, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday and in the chapel from 8 a.m. until service at 10 a.m. Monday.

Tim's final resting please is at Wadesboro Catholic Cemetery in Ponchatoula, Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana.
